Did you know?
- The Nepalese are still closely tied to their ancient cultures, religious traditions and regional differences. There are twenty languages, four main castes (thirty odd sub-castes), thirty-six ethnic groups, even four different New Years and three totally different scripts - each with it’s own variants
- In Nepal we have the tallest mountain in the world and the shortest person in the world. Mt. Everest (Sagarmatha in Nepali) stands 8,850 meters and Khagendra Thapa Magar who stands at just 56cm at 18 years old
- Nepal has eight of the world's ten highest mountains
- The classic Kathmandu rickshaw with its umbrella sun shade is popularly known as the Kathmandu helicopter
- Nepal is the only country that does not set its clock by GMT +/- an hour difference but on 45 minutes. Nowhere else in the world is in the same time-zone as Nepal. Only goes to show how eccentric and contrary Nepalis are!
- Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, is located in Nepal.
